Since 2009, Bob Prather has been building strategies and providing operational leadership for Lucas Group as the company’s CFO. Throughout his tenure, he has been responsible for the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities and for the supervision of the Accounting & Finance and Information Technology corporate functions. He also assists CEO Andi Jennings on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, treasury and risk management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and strategic direction.
Wanting to have a more hands-on impact on Lucas Group’s functional expertise and to drive the success of his own team, Bob took on the additional role of General Manager for Lucas Group’s Accounting & Finance practice in 2016. As General Manager, Bob oversees more than 100 recruiters in the Accounting & Finance practice group, which specializes in both permanent and contract placements. Bringing a creative, personable, right-brain dynamic to his leadership methods, Bob is able to provide an analytical, objective management style to steer his team to the next level of success.
Prior to Lucas Group, Bob spent more than 10 years in finance working with a number of different companies of varying sizes. With a strong background in manufacturing, he worked with and for name-brand Fortune 1000 corporations including United Industries, a subsidiary of Spectrum Brands, as well as Chemtura Corporation. He also spent time with Ernst & Young where he developed strong relationships with Fortune 500 clients throughout a wide range of industries from financial services and resource management to giants in textiles and manufacturing.
A native Floridian, Bob has spent the majority of his professional career in the Southeastern U.S. and now resides in Houston with his wife. He holds a BBA and Master of Accountancy both from Stetson University.
