Jesse Mencow values making good hiring decisions and setting teams up for success. A “sponge for knowledge,” he soaks up as much information as he can about his clients and candidates in order to make mutually-beneficial placements that last over the long term.
Jesse joined Lucas Group in 2016 as an Executive Search Consultant in the Military Transition practice group. In his role, he matches high-performing military candidates with leading employers in various industries throughout the U.S. Jesse hit the ground running at the firm setting up 180 interviews within his first six months. Persistent and hard-working, he faces challenges and setbacks head on, turning them into opportunities for success in the future. Working with focused individuals, Jesse is able to find their pressure points and help create solutions through hiring transcendent military talent.
Prior to joining Lucas Group, Jesse spent ten years in restaurant operations/management. Being in restaurant management helped him to understand the value of making smart hiring decisions, the importance of a good training program and how to recruit the right talent. He also started and successfully ran a new fast-casual restaurant. Jesse’s experience in customer service and management gives him a unique perspective and approach to recruiting that he is able to offer to his clients and candidates.
A lover of all things and people quirky, Jesse enjoys spending time with his one-eyed dog, Gracie as well as playing tennis with his wife. Jesse majored in English at the University of Maryland, College Park, and still roots for his beloved Terrapins.
