An accomplished Formula Ford race car driver, Jim Thompson’s greatest lesson was learned behind the wheel: Race the track; not the other drivers. Today, as Executive Senior Partner for Lucas Group’s Sales & Marketing Division, Jim is committed to delivering superior results to his clients and candidates – quickly and on target.

Utilizing proven methodologies and a consistent, honest approach to recruiting, Jim is dedicated to respecting the process and maintaining high attention to detail, while intensely focusing on results. He is motivated by the challenge of finding the best solutions for his clients and candidates, and he works tirelessly to identify the subtle nuances that make each company, candidate, and search unique.

Jim joined Lucas Group in 2005, after having successfully led an ERP operational consultancy for more than thirty years. With a strong belief that each opportunity be afforded unquestionable integrity, professionalism, and the pursuit of perfection, Jim works with clients and candidates to find the sectors’ best solutions and top-notch talent. Throughout his career, Jim has worked closely with information technology and consulting firms, as well as software, high technology, manufacturing, and distribution companies. And today he works with the same committed drive that he engaged in on the race track.

Jim’s extensive national experience in the technology space affords him the opportunity to truly understand the needs of his clients. As an example, Jim enthusiastically accepted an assignment from a leading global IT solutions firm to help them fill 12 positions in a high-visibility corporate fast track M.B.A. program. Jim was not the sole recruiter working the assignment, yet within 10 days he delivered dozens of qualified candidates from the top 20 M.B.A. programs in the U.S. Amazed with his speed and accuracy in finding transcendent talent for their program, the client satisfactorily filled all 12 positions, solely from the candidates Jim had presented.

As on the race track, speed is only one factor of victory. Jim believes that success also requires showing the endurance and persistence to stick with the turns and keep your eyes on the finish line. When not pursuing exceptional client satisfaction, Jim thoroughly enjoys the challenge and thrill of hiking nature’s track in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Jim holds a B.A. in Economics from Lawrence University and an M.B.A. from the Olin School at Washington University.
