During his 15 year tenure with the firm, John has been engaged in talent searches for family-owned companies, private equity groups, publicly- held corporations and private companies. Searches have included: Managing Director for a high volume, iconic New Orleans restaurant, Vice President of Global Supply Chain, Director of Design, Merchant for an historic Napa specialty grocer, Director of Product Innovation, Chief Development Officer for an International brand preparing to launch a US franchise business and Vice President of Sales for an upscale outdoor furniture manufacturer.

Prior to joining Lucas Group, John worked for both publicly-traded and privately-owned restaurant companies. He launched his formal career in the hospitality business with The Walt Disney Company. Following graduation, he joined the highly regarded, multi-concept restaurant company Gilbert/Robinson, Inc. where he held a variety of roles in operations and human resources with a significant decade in senior management. He subsequently joined the Steak ‘n Shake organization as its Senior Human Resource Officer.
A resident of Newport Beach, CA, John is an avid runner, a daily cyclist and enjoys staying current on the emerging hospitality industry in Orange County and the vibrant hospitality scene in and around Los Angeles.
A graduate of The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University, John is past President of The School of Hospitality Business Alumni Association and a past recipient of the School’s Alumnus of The Year award. He is also a member of both the California and National Restaurants Associations.
