Senior Partner - Direct Hire
Executive recruiting is a marathon and not a sprint. This mentality is a driving force behind John Seaver’s career and allows him to strategically work to address complex hiring requirements with the talent that organizations need in order to succeed. Happy playing any role in the recruiting process from coaching candidates and being a sounding board for his clients to conducting references, John has established a track record of long-term, mutually-beneficial placements.
In 2017, John joined Lucas Group in the Accounting & Finance practice and has focused on permanent searches primarily in real estate, private equity and asset management for mid-sized to Fortune 500 corporations. He enjoys connecting one party to another and bridging the gap between his clients’ talent needs and exceptional accounting & finance professionals. His “thrill of the fill” ensures he sources the ideal candidate for each and every position, ultimately helping his clients achieve higher levels of financial success.
John’s previous career was spent as a Business Analyst before attending business school. After graduation, he was recruited to Ernst & Young in the advisory practice where his clients had challenges related to recruiting. He quickly became an industry “go to,” consulting in the contract and contingent recruiting world. One missing piece of the puzzle for John’s career was doing full-time executive search, so he transitioned to Lucas Group in 2017.
John spends his free time with his wife and two daughters. He is quick to share that parenting has made him better at recruiting as much as recruiting has made him better at parenting. He also enjoys waking up before the sun rises to go for long runs around the city or row in the marina. John holds an MBA and MS from the University of Michigan and a BA from Princeton University.
