Michael Locandro brings an exceptional drive and dedication to his work as an Accounting and Finance recruiter at Lucas Group. As a former two-time NCAA Athlete of the Year, he appreciates the fast pace and competitive nature of recruiting. But his primary goal is to create just the right match between companies and candidates, so that both parties benefit. He aims to deliver top-notch talent to great companies, and to help candidates accelerate their careers.
Michael is committed to hard work, consistently putting in as many hours as it takes to get the job done. Throughout his career, he has been goal-oriented, efficient, and driven to learn. Before joining Lucas Group in 2013, he spent three years as a Territory Manager for US Foods. During that time he received a number of awards, including the District MVP Award in 2012 and the Sales Plan Achievement Award in 2011 and 2012 for exceeding annual sales goals.
In his previous role, Michael honed his talent for creating successful long-term relationships with clients during weekly face-to-face sales calls. He now draws on this skill to get to know the needs of his clients and candidates well enough to initiate excellent matches. One of Michael's proudest accomplishments so far at Lucas Group is completing a hiring search in which the top two candidates were so strong that the employer hired both.
With a background in economics, Michael is especially passionate about market dynamics and helping people leverage opportunities in today's complex financial world. He enjoys deepening his knowledge on the job by engaging in dialogue with his insightful colleagues and learning new technical skills.
Michael holds a B.S. in Economics from Birmingham Southern College. When he's not at work, he spends time with his family, lifts weights, and plays tennis.
