The “Man of Steel” at Lucas Group is Bruce Enger, a Senior Partner with more than 30 years experience in the metals industry as an executive and recruiter. He leads the Metals industry search team within our Manufacturing/Engineering/Supply Chain executive search group.

His recruiting philosophy is, in a word, experience. He knows the Metals industry as well as any other recruiter in the country. He has had 30+ years of Metals industry experience to the President level, with hands-on knowledge of Steel Service Centers, Steel Mills, Metal Building Products Companies and Metal Manufacturers. He works the nation and the entire organizational chart, from President to Production Supervisor.

He only takes job orders he knows he can fill, and by leveraging his vast experience and industry knowledge, seeks out the perfect candidate for the position. From the back of the plant to the ultimate customer, Bruce knows the industry better than most.

Bruce prides himself on his knowledge of the key players in the Metals industry. He specializes in the placement of sales, sales management, operations, purchasing, metallurgical, quality and manufacturing individuals, up to and including Director-level and C-level executives.

The majority of Bruce’s Metals industry career was spent with National Steel Service Centers, Inc. He started his career as Sales Manager of their Chicago area operation, and ended as President/Chief Operating Officer of this $180 million processor, fabricator, and distributor of light gauge flat rolled metal products. This company had 526 employees, 12 locations and four major mixes of business.

In the mid 80’s, he designed from scratch a manufactured metal roofing business which eventually grew to an $80 million division within the confines of this traditional steel service center. Originally from the Chicago area, Bruce attended Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin and is a graduate of the Army’s Infantry Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, Georgia.
