Senior Executive Search ConsultantPractice: Human Resources
Location: Washington, DC
“Client” and “candidate” are temporary terms; relationships are what recruiting is built upon. Knowing this, Ed Willis doesn’t believe in transactional recruiting. Rather, he enjoys staying in contact with both his clients and candidates throughout the years and following their career and business progression.
With 15 years of experience in recruiting, Ed came to Lucas Group in 2018 as a Senior Executive Search Consultant in the Human Resources practice group. As a trusted advisor to his clients and candidates, he listens to both parties to understand what is important to them and makes successful matches based on skill sets and cultural fit. Through building strong relationships, he watches how people’s needs change and develop over time, allowing him to make strategic placements. Ed finds fulfillment in impacting others’ lives in a way that positively changes their family and living situations.
Before recruiting, Ed worked in behavioral health care before transitioning to a position as a recruiter in behavioral health and social work. He later worked for a staffing agency focused on creative marketing roles in Philadelphia. Two years into his role, he was tapped to open a new office in Dallas and became a branch manager. From there, he moved to D.C. where he went in-house as an HR manager for an IT company, handling all HR and recruiting functions for the 50-person organization. Throughout Ed’s career, he won multiple President’s Club awards and was named Recruiter of the Year. His background in behavioral health and counseling helps him guide his clients and candidates to positive career and business decisions.
Outside the office, Ed spends his time with his wife, daughter and their pit bull, Her Royal Highness Countess LuAnne De Lesseps (Lulu for short). He holds a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University.
