Monica Finkelstein is passionate about landing attorneys their dream roles at Am Law 100 firms, top legal boutiques and in-house positions throughout Texas. An experienced legal recruiter, former Appellate law clerk and practicing attorney, she is a natural connector who possesses a keen awareness of the legal job market. A skilled listener, she takes time to learn about her candidates and what is important to them in order to make long-term, strategic placements.
Additionally, Monica’s early background made recruiting a natural fit for her. As a merit scholarship student at the New York City Ballet and PICAS Fellow in Mandarin Chinese at the University of Michigan, Monica garnered determination and persistence. In fact, Monica thrives on the rigorous pace of recruiting and enjoys helping her candidates fulfill their career aspirations.
Monica holds a B.A., magna cum laude, in Chinese History and Political Science from Colorado College. She was awarded a post-graduate PICAS Fellowship in Mandarin Chinese from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. She received her J.D., cum laude, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law where she was a Hutchinson Fellow, Editor of the SMU Law Review and earned a Dean’s Scholarship.
During her free time, Monica spends time with her husband, Mark, her children, Emily and Noah, and her four-legged children, Peko, Obi, Oranges and Lucy. They have traveled to 48 states and soon hope to achieve their goal of visiting all 50. She also enjoys practicing Vinyasa yoga and attending performances of the Houston Ballet and Houston Grand Opera.
