Nick Buffini

Managing Partner

Practice: Accounting and Finance
Location: Los Angeles, CA

From Singapore to New York, and Shanghai to London, Nick Buffini has strategically partnered with clients and candidates across the globe to improve careers and business operations throughout the financial sector. His impressive track record of cultivating teams and successful business portfolios is unparalleled in the world of financial recruiting and has allowed him to build, manage and grow recruitment practices in Europe, Asia and the U.S.

With more than a decade of international experience in boutique search firms within the commodity and financial services markets, Nick came to Lucas Group in 2015 as a Senior Partner in the Accounting & Finance division. Using his global perspective and a consultative approach, he listens to what his clients and candidates truly need in order to make long-term placements based on culture and fit. Working with market-leading firms, he sources best-in-class talent who can lead initiatives and drive results for mid-tier to Fortune 500 corporations throughout Los Angeles and the West coast. Quick at identifying market opportunities for his clients, Nick works to ensure he finds the most synergistic match that benefits both parties.

Throughout Nick’s career, he has identified recruiting markets, set up new offices within search firms and developed international portfolios of business. Initially, he spent four years with a London firm as a researcher and built new practice areas in logistics and commodities. He then took a year-long sabbatical, rock-climbing in New Zealand and competing in Taekwondo camps in Seoul. In 2010, Nick returned to his employer in their Singapore office, replicating the same success he previously had in London. Tasked with setting up the company’s New York office, he moved to the U.S. in 2013 where he continues to thrive in executive recruiting.

A London native, Nick holds a BA from the University of Leeds, UK. He is also an avid rock climber and volunteers with the Sierra Club, exploring the outdoors with inner city children of Los Angeles.
