Atlanta, GA – July 13, 2020 – Lucas Group, the national executive recruiting firm ranked 5th on the Forbes “Best Professional Search Firm” list for 2020, is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Marmon is just the third CEO in the company’s history, following Andi Jennings, who retired in 2019. Jennings was with Lucas Group for more than four decades and became CEO in 2009, succeeding the company’s founder Art Lucas.

Art Lucas founded the firm as a small business in 1970 to help military personnel transition to the civilian workforce after honorably completing their military service. Headquartered in Atlanta, the company quickly grew to include locations in Dallas and Houston by 1973, then expanded to Irvine, CA in 1989. With this growth, Lucas Group officially separated its Military Transition Division (1987) from other practices and created its Accounting & Finance Division (1988), before adding an Executive Search Division in the early 1990s.

The late 1990s and early 2000s marked a period of dynamic expansion with Lucas Group opening offices in Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, San Diego, Tampa and Washington, DC, and grew our Legal Search Division in 2005 with the acquisition of The Williamson Group.

In response to increased growth, in 2010 Lucas Group split its large Executive Search Division into four, industry-focused practice areas: Human Resources, Information Technology, Manufacturing, and Sales and Marketing. The firm added its most recent location, Cincinnati, in 2015.

While Lucas Group has expanded the scope of its practice groups since the company’s founding, the company remains true to it roots supporting military service members. In recognition of this commitment, Lucas Group received the prestigious Seven Seals Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) in 2013. ESGR, an office in the Department of Defense, bestows the award upon companies that strongly support their employees who are actively engaged in reserve military service.

Today, Lucas Group has 14 locations with seven practice areas: Accounting & Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Military Transition, Sales & Marketing, and Supply Chain & Operations.
