Lucas Group Promotes High-Performing Leaders to National Level
30 July 2020
The full-service professional search firm reorganized its key practice groups to better leverage its impressive talent network and serves as a strategic recruitment partner for companies with direct hire and contract placement needs.
Atlanta, GA – July 30, 2020 – Lucas Group, the national executive recruiting firm ranked 5th on the Forbes “Best Professional Search Firm” list for 2020, announced seven leadership promotions that reorganize the company’s practice groups to better serve client needs.
Aram Lulla, previously General Manager HR, has been promoted to Division President overseeing Accounting & Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology.
“Historically, companies have considered Accounting & Finance, HR and IT to be back-office functions that are cost centers, rather than revenue generators, but that’s changing,” said Lulla. “By bringing all three practice groups under centralized leadership, we can leverage our functional expertise to better serve our clients, candidates and consultants. We’re streamlining recruitment so companies can do more with less, while still ensuring exceptional candidate quality that drives long-term business success.”
Lulla will be supported by Victor Palumbo, who was promoted to General Manager A&F; Sara Luther, who was promoted to General Manager HR; and David Armendariz, who continues as General Manager IT.
Palumbo joined Lucas Group in 1998 to establish and expand the firm’s Accounting & Finance practice in Chicago. Under his skilled leadership, the Chicago office quickly distinguished itself. Dedicated to excellence, Palumbo helped define and develop Lucas Group’s Best Practices Program, a blueprint he follows today as General Manager of the national A&F practice.
Luther joined Lucas Group in 2006, serving in the Atlanta and Houston offices before opening the firm’s Cincinnati HR branch and office. As General Manager of the national HR practice, she expertly leads her team in working with corporate clients and solving complex business issues.
Armendariz thrives on building bridges professionally and personally. As General Manager, Information Technology, he has overseen the strategic growth of Lucas Group’s IT division into a nationally recognized practice, combining his deep market expertise with discerning insight for the global stage on which his clients compete.
Tom McGee, previously General Manager Sales & Marketing which places executive level candidates in Consumer Products, Business to Business, Medical and Industrial positions, has been promoted to Division President overseeing Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain & Operations, and Military Transition. McGee, who began his career as a recruiter with Lucas Group in 1985, brings a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience leading teams at the national level.
McGee will be supported by Jimmy Dwertman, who was promoted to Director, Supply Chain & Operations, Jim O’Neal, who was promoted to Director, Military Delivery, and Cindy Ewers, who was promoted to Director, Sales & Marketing.
An Army veteran, Dwertman joined Lucas Group in 2016 as a Managing Partner in the Manufacturing practice group, leading the growth of the Cincinnati practice. With more than a decade of hands-on manufacturing experience, including providing strategic oversight for a $27M plant expansion, Dwertman brings expert insight to his new role as Director, Supply Chain & Operations.
A former Captain in the U.S. Army, O’Neal joined Lucas Group in 1992, deftly merging his own military background with business experience. Today, O’Neal and his national team place exceptional military leaders and skilled technicians into key operational, production, logistics, sales, and engineering roles.
Ewers joined Lucas Group in 1998, putting her experiences to work for clients and candidates across the Environmental, AEC, Industrial, Energy and Manufacturing sectors. Her extensive knowledge of both industry and business provides clients with exceptional insight into the qualities that drive financial success for executive-level placements.
Lucas Group’s Legal Division continues to be led by General Manager, Steven Lynch. Joining Lucas Group in 2007 as the Managing Partner in Atlanta, Lynch continues to serve as a consultative advisor to firm leaders seeking to strategically grow their firms, General Counsel interested in hiring the market’s best legal talent, and attorneys seeking coaching and career advice. Lucas Group’s Legal Division places attorneys with corporations and law firms, including high-level General Counsel, and is recognized for their success in negotiating lateral partner transitions and practice group acquisitions on behalf of some of the most respected U.S. firms.
“Lucas Group recently marked its 50th anniversary, and as we look to the next 50 years, our leadership team has never been stronger,” said CEO Randy Marmon. “I am excited for our entire Lucas Group family and eager to see where this leadership team takes us.”
