Executive Senior Partner - Direct Hire
When recruiting attorneys, there is not a “one size fits all” legal firm. Each associate or partner has his or her own strengths and weaknesses and fits well at some firms better than others. Lesley Tone uses her legal experience, psychology background and market knowledge to match her candidates to ideal positions that are aligned to their specific skill sets.
Since 2012, Lesley has been making exceptional matches between top legal talent and leading employers as an executive recruiter at Lucas Group. Since joining the firm, she has quickly been promoted several times to Executive Senior Partner and has won many accolades including Bull’s Club, President’s Club and Sterling Club. In her role, she expertly places partners, associates and in-house counsel in Fortune 50 corporations; large, international law firms as well as boutique firms throughout the Midwest. Throughout her tenure, she has placed individuals in nearly every practice area including litigation, intellectual property and transactional law positions. Lesley operates with great candor and is able to connect with her candidates on a personal level, making her a “must know” in her field. She enjoys the personal reward of finding the right candidate for the right position as well as the counseling component that comes with recruiting.
Prior to beginning her career as a legal recruiter, Lesley was a litigation associate in the Chicago office of Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP. While working on multi-million-dollar litigation cases, Lesley appreciated all aspects of the legal profession; however, she was not always able to see the fruits of her work. Wanting to capitalize on her skills and abilities while also helping others achieve their goals, Lesley transitioned to the executive recruiting industry in 2011, joining McCormack Schreiber Legal Search as a Managing Director.
Lesley earned her B.A. in Psychology with distinction from the University of Michigan in 2003 and earned her J.D. from the University of Iowa in 2007; she is a fourth-generation attorney. A voracious reader and avid traveler, Lesley also volunteers for various Chicago fundraisers and charitable events and cheers for her alma mater, the Michigan Wolverines.
